Prior to him embracing Fine Art, Pete Underhill had a long and rewarding career in graphic design and illustration. Using traditional materials and techniques, he carries his appreciation of contemporary realism through to his current practice. Pete is a firm believer that fidelity of drawing is fundamental to his work.
Although primarily a painter of portraits and figurative art, Pete’s response to the Covid pandemic and the necessary isolation it provided, was to explore painting still lifes and he continues to negotiate the challenges that brings.
This show is a selection of Pete’s work produced between 2020 and 2023.
